Imagination is not only the uniquely human capacity to envision that which is not, and therefore the fount of all invention and innovation.
In its arguably most transformative and revelatory capacity, it is the power that enables us to empathize with humans whose experiences we have never shared.

這句話很像中文，某人死前的最後一口氣，Gasp是吸氣，而且吸的很大聲；J.K.說她死前都要捍衛bedtime stories，因為今天主題講的是想像力，我相信她說她要捍衛的是她自己寫的小說
Uniquely
這個字是副詞，但是有一種非常特殊的情況被拿來當形容詞用，當用來形容獨特的地方或獨特地方的人種或特殊事物，而且是全世界其他地方沒有的，這時候Uniquely可以被拿來當形容詞用，比方：a uniquely Taiwan economic miracle(獨特的台灣經濟奇蹟)，J.K. Rowling則稱讚想像力是人類獨特的能力，表示她胸懷世界，豬狗貓都沒有想像力，所以人類有此Uniquely capacity，愛因斯坦從來不做實驗，全靠Imagination!
The fount of something
這句話只有文學家才講得出口，一般人講會覺得有點肉麻，….東西的源泉，好像青少年寫作文，最常見的友the fount of wisdom, the fount of knowledge；可以講the fount of beautiful women嗎？如果本地的美女像噴泉(fountain)或泉水(spring)或或間歇泉(geyser)一樣噴出來就可以…
Revelatory ['revələtəri]
啟示的、天啟的，中譯看起來似乎很偉大，英英字典是這麼解釋，"揭發人類有史以來未知的東西"，就是Revelation [,revə'leiʃən]，形容詞Revelatory；J.K. Rowling似乎把人類的想像力想得太了不起，有天啟能力的人，人類歷史也沒出現幾個，耶穌和釋迦牟尼算是，但真正有Revelation的人，應該是畫推背圖的李淳風，算出武氏當政，唐朝十三代，算出二次大戰，還畫出日本沉沒，大家等著看吧；這麼解釋，Revelation/Revelatory是不是平易近人多了？

字典翻譯「形成的、構成的」，這種翻譯就是「英文毒瘤」，因為看不懂什麼意思，所以不可能會用。Formative源自Form(形式)和Format(格式)，它真正的意思是「對某件事情的發展具有影響力的」，因為Formative是構成此發展的Form & Format；比方兒童心智成長的年齡，Formative years of children
Inform
本意「告知」，但是如果告知你的不是「人」，而是某件事情、某個經驗，這時候就不是告知，而是這件事、這個經驗，讓你「明白某種重要的特質」，J.K. Rowling說，哈利波特這套書Inform她往後的寫作風格，書，是不可能「告知」J.K. Rowling的
Slope off
這句片語是英國口語，Slope像是溜滑梯的斜坡，這麼Slope off下去，毫無聲息，英國人說這是開小差溜跑的意思，美國習慣用Sneak away

Unlike any other creature on this planet, human beings can learn and understand, without having experienced.
They can think themselves into other people’s places.
Of course, this is a power, like my brand of fictional magic, that is morally neutral.
