副詞的Short多半是搭配各種不同動詞，比前一篇形容詞的Short變化更多

今天封面主題是電影The Expendables 2，布魯斯威利和席維斯史特龍的對話如果能聽懂60%，英語聽力已經是Pro級，因為，布魯斯威利，講話不動嘴唇輕聲細語、聲音氣若游絲沒有高低起伏、語速快句子之間沒有段落，席維斯史特龍則是有名的大舌頭，好像嘴裡含一顆滷蛋...

封面主題：

(不要低估自己 – 浴血任務2)

浴血任務第二集，CIA Church(布魯斯威利)指派新任務給Barney(席維斯史特龍)，另外派出一名女幹員配合，附帶條件是，不准讓女幹員受到任何傷害。

Barney不願意帶個拖油瓶，告訴Church說，我不是一個好保姆。

Church回道：不要低估自己，Don’t sell yourself short，你會是個好保姆。

說明：

Sell Sort是低於成本的價錢賣出，例如股票融券做空，或者是短售屋Short Sale，用低於銀行欠款的價錢出售房子，自己承擔損失。Sell yourself short，賤賣自己，比方找工作，月薪二萬二就把自己給賣了，就是Sell Yourself Short~

* 搭配介係詞of, fall short of something

* 搭配介係詞of或on, running short on something

中途停止、突然間停止
* 搭配介係詞of, stop short of doing something
* 可用stop someone short，突然間制止某人
* 類似忽然瞬間把馬停住

* 僅用在被動式，be caught short
* 在美國，caught short是沒事先做好準備被打槍，尤其是身上的錢不夠
* 在英國，caught short是忽然內急

股票術語：Sell Short
賣空(股票融券)
* 手上沒有持股的交易，比方看空股票進行融券，十天後股票由100跌到60，可以用60買進100賣出。融券是防止股票崩跌的一種機制，大家看空全都去融券，股價就回穩。
