生活大爆炸執行製作Chuck Lorre出第一次Vanity Card有聲書，他請大家上他的網站欣賞吉他演奏，這是第一次聽見Chuck Lorre說話，大家可以欣賞他的英語和他當年放棄的吉他音樂。(以下英文內容僅作參考用)

Hey welcome to the world first talking vanity card. I hope you didn't try and press “Play” on your television set there because, well, nothing much would have come of it. Anyway if you find yourself here at the website and you press play and here I'm. It's Chuck Lorre and I have nothing particular to say. Didn't really think this through. What I did do was record myself playing guitar with my friend Red Jensen. We're playing a Jimmy Bryan & Speedy West's song from 1950 called “Night Rider.” The only thing I can add to this introduction is this is basically what I did during the three months writer’s strike I sat in the room and played this over and over and over again, really to the point of distraction. I never quite got very good at it, but this is as far as I got. I don't know the whole song. This is The Night Rider in my living room.

註：The Big Bang Theory第一季演到第八集(2007年11月)，在美國造成轟動，但發生作家罷工事件，Chuck Lorre待在家三個月，造成節目停擺，直到2008年3月才重新開始

《故事內容提要》

The Bat Jar Conjecture

蝙蝠俠餅乾罐的臆測

The guys decide to compete in a physics bowl after finding out that the strong competitors have dropped out, but find Sheldon's showboating too much and kick him off the team.

宅男決定加入物理杯競賽physics bowl，因為得知強勁的對手退出dropped out比賽，但是後來發現Sheldon太愛賣弄showboating，大家把他踢出kick him off隊伍(Leonard送Sheldon一個蝙蝠俠餅乾罐Bat Jar，請他退出隊伍)

Sheldon, upset, vows to form his own team and compete against them.

Sheldon不爽upset，發誓vows to另組自己的隊伍跟他們對抗

The guys, in need of a fourth member, ask Leslie; she rejects at first, but agrees after finding out they are going against Sheldon, who has often criticized her research and gender.

三位宅男急需in need of第四名隊員，詢問Leslie願不願意，Leslie剛開是不願意，但知道原來是要對抗going against Sheldon之後馬上同意，因為Sheldon經常批評她的研究和她的性別gender

The guys name themselves PMS (Perpetual Motion Squad, an unintentional pun on premenstrual syndrome), while Sheldon's team is named AA (Army ants, an unintentional pun on Alcoholics Anonymous) and is composed of himself, the 3rd floor janitor, the lunch lady, and her son (or possibly her butcher).

三位宅男稱自己的隊伍為PMS，意思是永恆運行隊(Perpetual Motion Squad, 暗指We can go all night，我們可以嘿咻一個晚上不累)，但是成了無意間的unintentional雙關語pun，月經前症候群premenstrual syndrome；另一方面，Sheldon的隊伍稱為AA，他的意思是螞蟻雄兵(Army Ants)，其實是匿名戒酒互助會的意思(Alcoholics Anonymous, 美國戒酒協會最大的社團)，隊員除了自己，還有住在三樓的門房警衛janitor，學校做飯的阿姨lunch lady，還有阿姨的兒子，或者是她的豬肉販butcher

PMS win when Sheldon, unable to answer the last question, refuses to accept the janitor's answer, which turns out to be correct.

PMS獲勝，因為Sheldon無法回答最後一個問題，並且拒絕接受門房隊友的答案，結果turns out to be人家的答案是對的

The janitor explains that despite working in America as a janitor, he was a physicist in the former Soviet Union.

門房解釋說，雖然在美國他是個門房，但是在前蘇聯，他是名物理學家physicist

渾圓的屁股；節目開場，Howard說，如果外星人和地球身材姣好的女星交配，生出來的孩子會不會是耳朵尖尖的(Pointy Ears)，臀型優美的(Shapely Rears)，Shapely，好身材的，Rear屁股

Tawdry ['tɔdri]

庸俗低級的，剛開始Sheldon不願意和另外三個組成隊伍去比賽，因為他認為這是庸俗低級的比賽，Tawdry Competition

Put it to a vote

投票表決；四個宅男對自己的隊伍名稱各持己見，Leonard建議大家投票表決，Put it to a vote

You're off the team

你被趕出隊伍了；由於Sheldon太愛現，不讓其他隊員答題，所以由Leonard領頭，把Sheldon逐出隊伍

One thing led to another and ...

順理成章；Sheldon不明白自己為什麼被趕出隊伍，質問Leonard, Leonard說，大家本來只是閒聊，但是一件事接著另一件事，One thing led to another and you’re off the team，你順理成章的就被逐出隊伍

多謝你提醒；Sheldon知道自己被逐出球隊之後，告訴Leonard他自己要組一個新隊來對抗，Leonard感謝他的提醒，Thanks for the heads-up

We must reply in kind

以眼還眼；如果別人怎麼對你，你也必須怎麼對人，Sheldon這麼愛現，Raj建議大家用同樣的態度對他表示不屑

Take one for the team

【慣用語】犧牲小我完成大我；三位宅男還缺一名隊員，大家要Leonard犧牲自己去求Leslie幫忙，Leonard不願意，因為才被Leslie甩掉，但是為了贏Sheldon，還是決定放下尊嚴，犧牲小我，Taking one for the team；再比方，等電梯人人太多，你自願爬樓梯上19樓，這也是Taking one for the team

Sack up

鼓起勇氣去做危險的任務；Raj要Leonard Sack up，去請Leslie來幫他們

Rest assure that...

你放心….；比方有人問羅輯思維羅胖，看美劇學英文，很不錯吧！羅胖的口頭禪是：你放心，你學不會的，Rest assure that it’s impossible!

Get on to something

開始講某件事情；Leonard找Leslie，還沒開口，Leslie要Leonard不要想太多和她一夜情的事，講不停，稍微緩和一下，Leonard趁機說：”I'd like to get on to my question now”，我想開始問妳一個問題

Go up against someone

對抗某人；Leslie本來聲稱自己很忙，不願意參加，但是聽到這事要去對抗Sheldon，Go up against Sheldon Cooper，馬上同意

Misogynistic [mi,sɔdʒi'nistik]

仇視女人的、對女人有偏見的，名詞misogynist [mɪ'sɑdʒɪnɪst] (厭惡女人的人)；Leslie這麼形容Sheldon，That arrogant, misogynistic, East Texas doorknob，那個傲慢、仇視女人、東德州的渾蛋

Childbearing

懷孕生孩子；Sheldon曾經批評Leslie的資質太差，應該回家去洗衣服生孩子，You should abandon your work for laundry and childbearing.

Game Face

比賽前或挑戰一項重要任務前，一臉恐怖無懼的樣子；Leonard準備上場比賽，Penny來打氣，問說：” Got your game face on?”，三個宅男沒一個聽懂，Penny改口說：”Are you ready?”

Single-handedly

一人包辦、靠一個人就夠了；Sheldon找左鄰右舍組成一個雜牌軍，說我們這一隊靠我一個人就可以打敗你們了：”I can defeat you single-handedly.”

On what grounds?

比賽開始，Sheldon提出正式抗議，Formal protest，物理系主任問， On What Ground? 基於什麼理由？Sheldon回答：”The Velcro on my wrist brace caught on my shirt. (我手腕護具的魔鬼沾黏到我的衣服)”，害他來不及搶答，為什麼要用護腕，因為打任天堂太多打受傷，物理系教授拒絕接受這裡由，拒絕接受，Denied!
