【一次精通一單字】Get (二)
今天專講Get to，下面五句，意思各不相同：

Get to you (煩死你)
Get to know you (有機會認識你)
Got to know you (一定要認識你)
Get to knowing you (開始去了解你)
Getting to know you (越來越了解你)

封面故事：
Something’s Gotta Give.
(要先付出 愛在心裡眼難開 2004)

繼1997年的愛在心裡口難開(As Good As It Gets)，又一部亂給中文片名的愛在心裡眼難開(Something’s Gotta Give)，講一個不負責任的大齡花花公子(an aging playboy)愛上同年齡事業有成的女人(an accomplished woman)的故事。

Gotta是Got to的口語，標準文法是has got to，必須，口語常常把has省略；這裡的Give一語雙關，第一是付出，源自Give and Take(施與受)，第二是讓步，源自Give in(屈服、讓步)，所以比較貼切的片名是：愛要付出~

有一種情況很適合用這句話：老闆要求你為公司犧牲奉獻，這時候就可以對他說，Something’s gotta give，先給錢再說

常用詞：Get to some place
去某地
I have to get to the office on time.
(我必須準時到公司)
I gotta get to Baltimore tomorrow.
(我明天一定要去巴爾迪摩)

常用詞：Get Me 和 Get To Me
令人心煩(= annoy, bother)
* it gets me和it gets to me，都是令人心煩，但有微妙的差異
* it gets to me的心煩，是當下湧上心頭的煩，比方最近比較煩
* it gets me的心煩，描述的是事實，比方見到你就煩
* it gets me比較廣義，觸動心弦(evoke me)或令人困惑(puzzle me)

The noise really gets to me.
(噪音好煩人)

What gets me is the incessant noise.
(不斷的噪音令我心煩)

The song Yellow really gets me.
(Yellow這首歌觸動我心)

It’s her sudden indifference that gets me.
(她忽然對我的不在乎令我困惑)

I get to travel all over the world with my job.
(這份工作讓我有機會走遍全世界)
I don’t get to see Fiona again.
(我沒有機會再見到Fiona)
Lady GaGa gets to meet the queen.
(女神卡卡有機會見到女皇)

逐漸、越來越
* 常常以現在進行式的方式表達
* 也可用get to be something
* 常用詞有get to know, get to like, get to understand

It’s getting to be an issue.
(這件事逐漸變成一個問題)
I’m getting to know her.
(我越來越了解她)

常用詞：(Have) Got To
必須
* 口語上have可以省略
* 口語上got to可以用gotta
* 也可以用got to be

You’ve got to trust me.
(你一定要相信我)

You got to be strong.
(你一定要堅強)

It’s gotta be you.
(一定是你、就是你了)

常用詞：Got To Go
* got to go有三種意思，得離開了、得掛電話了、憋不住了
* 因為是口語，一般不用have，got to go改成gotta go

I got to go now. See you tomorrow.
(我得走了，明天見)

I gotta go now. Talk to you later.
(我得掛電話了，晚點再談)

When you gotta go, you gotta go.
(一定要尿的時候，就一定要尿)
