Flying high

Taitung’s International Balloon Festival draws(吸引) thousands of people.

Now adventurers can fly freely and float(漂浮) between the mountains and the ocean.

Reservations(預約) are required(必須的) for these 30-minute balloon rides from Guanshan Water Park(關山親水公園).

 

Establishing a landmark (建立地標)

Paposogan (Seashore Park 國際地標海濱公園) provides magnificent(壯觀的) ocean views to visitors as they stroll along(沿著…漫步) the bamboo(竹) walkway(步道) or rest(休息) under the dome(圓頂、巨蛋).

Tiny lights covering “the living tree(活著的樹)” and walkway constantly(不間斷的) change color at night, giving the feel of(有…的Fu) a fairyland(童話世界).

The International IRONMAN 70.3 in March and CHALLENGE Taiwan in May both began their triathlons(鐵人三項) with swimming competitions(游泳競賽) in Flowing Lake.

Participants(參加者) from as far away as(遠從) Denmark and as close as Japan tested themselves in these events.

Flowing Lake CAMP boasts(以..自豪) clear water, making it an ideal site(理想地點) for water sports(水上運動) entire families can enjoy, not just professional athletes(職業運動員).

Kayaking, stand up paddle-boarding (SUP 站立式划槳板), rafting(泛舟) and cable wakeboarding(勁爆水上滑板) are some of the available water sports.

Cable wakeboarding combines(結合) techniques(技巧) from water skiing(滑水), snowboarding(滑板板滑雪) and surfing(衝浪).

A cable suspended(懸吊) above the lake pulls the wake-boarder along.

Pipa Lake (琵琶湖)

Situated in(坐落於…) Taitung’s Forest Park, charming(迷人的) Pipa Lake gets its name from(以…得名) its shape.

The larger body of water(湖面) is connected to(連接) the smaller one in such a way that(因此…) it looks like a Chinese lute(琵琶). Thus, the name.

A viewing platform(觀景台) juts out(突出來) into the lake so people can get a closer look at(更近一點觀看) the water animals and plants.
