Round 1 中文關鍵字閱讀】

Cheating or Sharing - Is it bad to share something?

Sept 24th

Alan and Kyle are high school classmates

Alan: Hey, Kyle. Did you finish your chemistry(化學) homework?

Kyle: Yes. I have the worksheet(作業單) right here. Why?

Alan: Can I borrow it? I didn’t have time to finish it last night.

Kyle: You mean you want to copy(抄襲) my answers?

Alan: Well, yeah. It just one assignment(任務、功課).

Kyle: That’s kind of like cheating, isn’t it? Why don’t you just try to finish it now before class(下課)?

Alan: Because class starts in ten minutes, so I don’t have enough time. Besides, I only need the answers for the last six questions.

Kyle: I don’t know. This seems like(似乎是) a bad idea(餿主意). What if the teacher notices(注意) that we have identical(完全相同的) answers?

Alan: Don’t worry about that. I already finished most of it on my own(靠自己). So what if(…有什麼大不了) the last few answers are the same?

Kyle: I don’t want to get in trouble(惹麻煩) for cheating. If the teacher finds out(發現) that we shared(分享、共用) our answers, she might fail us(不及格) both!

Alan: Stop being so dramatic(誇張). The teacher won’t notice. Don’t forget, we often get similar grades(差不多的成績) in chemistry anyway.

Sept 25th

Kyle: You know, the last question took me a whole hour(花了我一整個小時時間) to solve.

Alan: Don’t be so stingy(小氣、吝嗇). Aren’t we friends?

Kyle: What does friendship have to do with(..有啥關係) it?

Alan: Friends help each other. And right now I need your help.

Kyle: Well, a true friend wouldn’t take advantage of(利用…) me.

Alan: I’m not taking advantage of you. I’ve helped you before.

Kyle: I’ve never asked you to help me cheat(作弊、欺騙).

Alan: Don’t make this such a big deal(大驚小怪). It’s only copying(抄、複製) a few answers.

Kyle: But it makes me uncomfortable(不自在). I take pride in(為樂) my work, and you should, too.

Alan: I do. I just didn’t finish this one assignment(交代的任務、功課) last night.

Kyle: How are you going to learn if you don’t do the work yourself?

Alan: You know I usually do my own work.

Kyle: But if I let you copy my homework this time, you’ll be tempted to(忍不住去做…) do it again.
